- BioActive ProloNg® fertilisers effectively reduce nitrogen (N) loss through volatilisation, denitrification and leaching by promoting microbial communities in the soil. They create the best lawns, including greens, fairways and tees. The lawns show excellent health, recovery and resistance to stress, drought and pathogens.
- Worldwide, 50% of the nitrogen applied is lost to the environment instead of being utilised by plants. The naturally occurring enzyme "urease" breaks down urea into a form that can be volatilised, causing nitrogen loss. Nitrate leaching also generates harmful losses for the environment. BioActive ProloNg® uses technology that actively protects and manages nitrogen in the soil at a molecular level. The shield prevents the action of urease on the applied nitrogen and slows down nitrification. This allows the plant better access to stable forms of nitrogen throughout the growing season and without destroying the spectrum of naturally occurring soil bacteria and enzymes.
- BioActive ProloNg® technology is biodegradable, water-soluble and leaves no adverse environmental footprint.
- BioActive ProloNg®, by preventing nitrification, eliminates the exuberant absorption of nitrates by plants, generates less unwanted growth and soft tissue (protein stored in the leaves) and therefore less susceptibility to disease.
